Because it lives inside the Kindle ecosystem, the device inherits the full catalog, sync behavior, and purchased-content history. Existing highlights, clippings, and collections remain intact while adding a native path for handwritten notes that stay anchored to the text. This preserves the advantage of Kindle as a reading platform rather than forcing migration to a third-party annotation stack.
