Ultra-Luxury Cruising by MSC Group

Explora Journeys is the luxury cruise brand of Switzerland’s MSC Group, developed by the Aponte-Vago family to introduce a contemporary approach to ocean travel. The company’s first vessel, EXPLORA I, began sailing in 2023, establishing a hospitality concept inspired by European luxury hotels and private yachts.

The brand emphasizes spacious accommodations, personalized service and a relaxed atmosphere through its Ocean State of Mind philosophy. Its growing fleet represents a multibillion-euro investment by MSC Group, positioning Explora Journeys within the ultra-luxury cruise market alongside established operators such as Regent Seven Seas, Silversea and Seabourn.

Yacht-Inspired Design on a Grand Scale

Explora Journeys’ fleet began with EXPLORA I in 2023, followed by EXPLORA II in 2024 and EXPLORA III in 2026. Built by Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri, the vessels feature contemporary European interiors, generous outdoor decks and public spaces designed to resemble those of an upscale waterfront resort. The company plans to expand to six ships by 2028.

The ships emphasize open ocean views, elegant lounges and multiple swimming pools, with carefully arranged spaces for relaxation and socializing. EXPLORA III introduces an updated vessel design and LNG-capable propulsion, reflecting the brand’s continued investment in ship development and environmental technology.

Oceanfront Suites, Penthouses and Residences

Every accommodation aboard Explora Journeys’ ships faces the ocean, with private terraces designed to extend the living space outdoors. The collection ranges from Ocean Suites to larger Ocean Penthouses and Ocean Residences, featuring floor-to-ceiling windows, contemporary furnishings and residential-style layouts.

Higher accommodation categories introduce expanded living and dining areas, additional outdoor space and enhanced personalized services. The most exclusive Owner’s Residences occupy prominent positions aboard the ships, offering expansive terraces and interiors designed to evoke the atmosphere of a private luxury home.

Restaurants, Pools and the Ocean Wellness Experience

Dining is a central part of the Explora Journeys experience, with restaurants offering Mediterranean, Asian and international cuisine. Signature venues include Sakura, Marble & Co. Grill, Fil Rouge and Med Yacht Club, while lounges and bars provide settings for afternoon refreshments, cocktails and evening entertainment.

Ocean Wellness facilities feature spa treatments, thermal areas, fitness centers and dedicated spaces for relaxation. Multiple heated swimming pools, oceanfront terraces and intimate entertainment venues contribute to an onboard atmosphere.
