Three Founders with One Skincare Philosophy

Dieux Skin is an American skincare brand founded in 2020 by Charlotte Palermino, Joyce de Lemos, and Marta Freedman. Palermino brought experience in digital media and skincare education, de Lemos contributed a background in cosmetic chemistry, and Freedman oversaw creative direction and branding. The company emerged from the founders’ shared frustration with misleading beauty marketing and unsupported product claims.

Dieux launched with its reusable Forever Eye Mask, which quickly attracted attention on social media. The brand subsequently expanded into serums, moisturizers, and cleansers, establishing a reputation for clinically tested formulations and unusually detailed ingredient education. Its growing popularity led to a major retail partnership with Sephora in 2024, bringing Dieux products to hundreds of stores across the United States.

The Science Behind Dieux

Scientific research and cosmetic chemistry play a central role in Dieux’s approach to skincare. Led by co-founder and cosmetic chemist Joyce de Lemos, the brand develops proprietary formulations at its Brooklyn laboratory, emphasizing clinically supported ingredients and skin barrier health. Products undergo independent third-party testing to evaluate their safety and performance, with particular attention given to hydration, sensitivity, and visible signs of aging.

Dieux also actively challenges misinformation surrounding skincare ingredients. The company questions the industry’s widespread use of terms such as “clean” and “toxin-free,” encouraging consumers to consider scientific evidence and formulation quality when evaluating products.

Sustainability and Transparency

Environmental responsibility is an important part of Dieux’s business philosophy, beginning with its reusable Forever Eye Mask, designed to replace disposable under-eye patches. The company prioritizes recyclable materials where practical and participates in a plastic recovery program through rePurpose Global. Its Plastic Negative certification involves funding the recovery of four times the weight of plastic used in its products and packaging.

Dieux also publishes detailed product pricing breakdowns, explaining costs associated with ingredients, packaging, manufacturing, and other expenses.
