Mario Dedivanovic Brings His Expertise to Beauty

Makeup by Mario is an American prestige cosmetics brand founded in October 2020 by celebrity makeup artist Mario Dedivanovic. Developed around his two decades of professional experience, the brand offers makeup for the face, eyes, and lips, alongside brushes and application tools. Its products emphasize blendable textures, versatile shades, and techniques that can be adapted to different skin tones and makeup preferences.

The brand debuted with a collection of 21 products and tools, initially focusing on eye makeup and professional artistry essentials. Launched in partnership with Sephora, Makeup by Mario quickly attracted attention from beauty enthusiasts familiar with Dedivanovic’s celebrity work. Its expanding collection now includes popular complexion, contouring, and lip products.

The MA Who Helped Popularize Modern Contouring

Born in the Bronx, New York, to Albanian parents, Mario Dedivanovic began his beauty career at Sephora before establishing himself as one of Hollywood’s most recognizable makeup artists. His long-standing collaboration with Kim Kardashian, which began in 2008, helped popularize the sculpted complexion, defined eyes, and carefully blended makeup associated with modern celebrity beauty.

Dedivanovic also developed an international following through his Makeup Masterclass events, where he demonstrates professional techniques to makeup artists and enthusiasts. His work has earned industry recognition, including the Artistic Achievement Award at the 2019 American Influencer Awards. His career combines celebrity artistry, beauty education, and product development.

SoftSculpt reflects Dedivanovic’s approach to contouring, using carefully placed color and seamless blending to create natural-looking facial definition. The technique emphasizes the cheekbones, jawline, and other facial contours through subtle shading, giving the complexion dimension while maintaining the appearance of skin. It has become one of the most recognizable elements of the Makeup by Mario brand.

The SoftSculpt collection includes the Transforming Skin Enhancer, Shaping Stick, and Transforming Skin Perfector, each designed for a different aspect of complexion sculpting. The Skin Enhancer provides sheer warmth and a dewy finish, while the Shaping Stick offers more targeted definition.

Makeup That Works With Your Routine

Makeup by Mario places considerable emphasis on formulas that are easy to blend, layer, and adjust. Products such as SurrealSkin Foundation, MoistureGlow Plumping Lip Serum, and Ethereal Eyes Eyeshadow Palette reflect the brand’s interest in wearable colors and versatile finishes. Many are designed to work with fingers or brushes, allowing users to control the intensity and placement of their makeup.

Dedivanovic’s educational approach also influences the brand’s product design, with specialized brushes, carefully selected shade ranges, and formulas intended to simplify professional techniques.
