Love & Tears, GENER8ION’s Debut Album

Released in June 2026, Love & Tears is the debut studio album from French electronic project GENER8ION. The 11-track record combines electronic music, alternative dance, and experimental pop, featuring collaborations with Yung Lean, 070 Shake, Yannis Philippakis, and Adèle Castillon. Its atmospheric production, driving rhythms, and emotionally charged vocals explore themes of love, vulnerability, and contemporary youth culture.

The album forms part of a larger multimedia project connecting music, cinema, and visual art.

Artist Background

GENER8ION is a French electronic music and multimedia project created by producer and DJ Benoit Heitz, professionally known as Surkin. Emerging from the French electronic music scene in the 2000s, Surkin established himself through energetic dance productions and collaborations with artists across electronic, hip-hop, and pop music.

GENER8ION extends his musical work into fashion, filmmaking, and visual art, frequently collaborating with French filmmaker Romain Gavras. The project has been associated with fashion houses including Dior, Louis Vuitton, and Paco Rabanne, combining electronic music with ambitious cinematic presentations.

GENER8ION’s Breakthrough Year

GENER8ION has experienced an extraordinary surge of international attention following the viral success of “STORM,” its collaboration with Swedish rapper Yung Lean. Released in April 2026, the cinematic music video directed by Romain Gavras attracted more than 34 million YouTube views by October, with Damien Jalet’s elaborate choreography inspiring widespread social media recreations.

The momentum carried into the MTV Video Music Awards on September 27, where “STORM” received four nominations, including Video of the Year. GENER8ION and Yung Lean closed the ceremony with a spectacular recreation of the video’s climactic dance sequence, featuring dozens of performers in school uniforms, a smashed Moon Person trophy, and a bizarre ice-cream finale.
